![]() Frank William Moore was born in September 1874 in Clerkenwell, Middlesex, England, son of Edwin Thomas Moore and Mary Weller. His father was the manager of a bread bakery. In 1881 his family are living on Alma Street, Middlesex, England. Frank must have left England in the late 1890s, because in 1901 his father and siblings are still living in Middlesex and Frank does not appear, having left for La Paz, Baja California to work as assistant manager for the British pearl fishing Company, ‘The Mangara Exploration Limited of London’. On June 21, 1902 in La Paz, Baja California Frank William married María Luisa Celina Zelayeta Navarro, daughter of Guillermo Zelayeta and Ma. Teresa de Jesus Navarro Moreno 1852, and granddaughter of Ramón Navarro Castro. The witnesses at the wedding were William Henry Rocholl and the bride´s aunt, Maria Josefa Navarro Moreno. Moore worked for the The Mangara Exploration Limited of London, until June 1, 1912 when the pearl - fishing concession held by the Mangara was canceled by the Mexican Government, however he remained in La Paz, probably working for either William Rocholl or Vives, and by now he was the Vice-consul of Great Britain in La Paz. In 1916 he is mentioned as having sent mango seeds to the United States: Mango From Mexico . Presented by Mr. Frank W. Moore , British vice consul , La Paz , Lower California , Mexico . Received August 29 , 1916 . This material was sent in reply to our request for seeds of especially good mangos reported by the United States consul at Mazatlán , Mexico , as growing in the Arroyo de Leon , near La Paz , Lower California , and probably obtainable through the British vice consul at that place . In 1926 the Moore family leave La Paz and settle in the Los Angeles, U.S.A., although Frank travels back and to La Paz on several occasions. In April 1930 for example he is travelling from La Paz to Los Angeles in company of Alejandra Cota of 17 years from La Paz, and states that he will join his wife, who lives at 908, Ellsworth Street, Berkeley. In 1930 Moore is living with his wife and children; Maria Teresa, Constance, Eduardo and John Thomas, on South Avapahoe, Los Angeles. Moore describes himself as a merchant and as a grocer and meats retailer. 1938 he travels from La Paz to Los Angeles, his departure contact is Antonio Ruffo and his arrival contact is his wife, Luisa in Los Angeles. Two years later, in the United States census of 1940, his wife Luisa is living on Seventh Avenue, Los Angeles with their daughter Maria Teresa and their son John Thomas, but Frank William is not present. Frank William Moore died on May 16, 1944 in México, Distrito Federal, México, his wife María Luisa died January 1, 1955 in Los Angeles and was buried on January 6, 1955 in Holy Cross Cemetery. Maria Teresa Moore:1904– Maria Teresa Moore was born on Febraury 5, 1904 in La Paz, Baja California and baptized on June 16, 1904 at Nuestra Señor de La Paz, La Paz. Her Godparents were Leonardo W. Orijuski and Josefa Navarro. 2. Maria Luisa Moore twin to Maria was baptized on the same day as her sister and her Godparents were Adolfo Beloc and Concepcion Navarro de Beloc. Maria Luisa married Gabriel Milhe, a book-keeper, on June 21, 1924 in Los Angeles and in the 1940 U.S. census they are living in San Diego and Gabriel is working as a purchaser for a cannery. 3. Constance Katherine Moore: 1905– Constance was born on December 27, 1905 in London, England. On September 14, 1933 , in Los Angeles, California she married James P. Rohan Jnr., from Oklahoma. Constance died on March 4, 1983 in Los Angeles, California, United States. 4. Edward William Moore: 1912– On February 25, 1939 Edward married Portia Sarah Rosenberg. Witnesses were his sister Louisa Milhe and Victor F. Rosenberg. Edward was a shipping clerk for the baking industry. In 1940 Edward and Portia are in living in Los Angeles and he is a shipping clerk. 5. John Thomas Moore: 1919–1993
